Families
The family is the most important foundation on which children build the rest of their lives an essential part of our work is to support families by providing a safe and comfortable place where individuals and families can relax, share and learn in a more informal setting.
Our family work attempts to bridge two gaps in provision that affect families. There is little preventative work with families to help them avoid reaching crisis level while at the other end of the scale there is little support, after crisis, in reintegrating people back into the community. This is particularly true in the case of depression, which is endemic in Rhondda Cynon Taff and has far reaching effects on families.
Parenting is one of the most difficult jobs and parents are supported in situations where they are made to feel good about themselves and help to develop their parenting skills. There are Baby clubs, Parent and Toddler groups, Pre-school Playgroups, Young Mother's Groups, Dad's Groups and Parenting Groups offer support to help them successfully tackle one of the most important roles in society.
Our aim is to offer families the support they need when they need it to enable them to have a better quality of family life. We acknowledge the importance of all family members and aim to address their needs.
