The Young People’s International Film Festival of Wales returns for it’s 6th year with its all-new 2012 celebration of film for young people and communities in the South Wales Valleys.
Following an action packed week of film screenings and workshops for the local schools, our closing night of the festival will host the Zoom Young Film Maker Awards. A chance for any young people who have produced films this year to showcase their work.
Walk the red carpet, see if you can spot any celebrities and get snapped by the news crews and photographers.
There will be 10 awards and these categories are:
• Best Film in age category 8 – 13
• Best Film in age category 14 – 25
• Best Performance
• Best Direction
• Best Animated Film
• Best Documentary
• Best Fiction
• Best Welsh Language
• Best Music Video
• The Zoom Award
You don’t have to have entered a film to come along, you will be able to see winning entries on the big screen and mingle with the festival winners, filmmakers, film directors and actors at the Zoom ceremony and find out who has won the Zoom Awards!
You won’t want to miss our closing night party afterwards with live music and food.
You will also see a special premiere public screening of a short film made by young people from Valleys Kids Artworks project called ‘Someone Else’s Shoes’
