Out of Time
Saturday 18 February 2012, 19:00

Rhydyfelin Youth Theatre presents their latest performance Out of Time.

Out of Time is the story of Sam, a headstrong teenager from Rhydyfelin who wakes up to find herself trapped in the past. It’s a very different world she has to deal with.

No mobile phones, no TV, no Internet and no inside toilets.

How she copes and what she learns along the way make for a powerful and often funny story.

What Sam finds out about her own past tells us much about the things that have changed and the things that haven’t.

Out of Time

Rhydyfelin Youth Theatre were interested in finding out more about their local and cultural heritage. We took this interest and applied to the Heritage Lottery Fund to request a grant for a project that culminates in the performance of Out of Time.

Rhydyfelin Youth members have spent the last 6 months researching their local area and the people that lived there. It was a fascinating journey, which included trips to museums, libraries, talking to their own family and interviewing local residents to find out what life was like when they were younger.

In response to their research we began devising a piece of theatre, which wasn’t easy! What time to go back to? Which stories to tell? For the answer to those questions you will have to come and see Out of Time.

Saturday 18th February 2012 at 7pm in the Rhydyfelin Community Centre.

Tickets are £1 for adults and 50p for children.
